When I installed the camera and its software, I had problems with sound and picture on Skype. When I contacted Logitech, they checked the serial number and found that I had been sent a camera and software that was made in 2005. It was completely out of date,and and after 2 hours with Logitech, they were able to install current software that worked. I still have problems with the picture. Don’t buy a camera from this seller!

I’m using two of these memories at the time of wrigint this message.

They work well. My sony vaio has a faster and better perfomance using the new memories.

memory works great in my Acer AA1 Aspire One. Hard to install in this unit but that’s an Acer issue.

I prayed and prayed after I ordered this. I had previously checked out the linux uvc webcam [...]which might work, and this seemed like the 2007 model that is mentioned in the list.

After I got it, I ran to the laptop, heart pounding as I plugged it in. /var/log/messages confirmed that the USB identifier was just the one which was supported - 046d:0991. I started up ekiga and it straightaway showed my video. I fired up Skype, and it showed up as well. Even the microphone works! Just freaking awesome!

Those in the market for linux compatible webcams, be aware that most logitech webcams are marked in the linux uvc page as potentially having problems (including the famed pro 9000 model). Be careful and do your research before buying webcams. This one works! Picture quality is ok. I am not sure whether the video qualifies as HD as somebody has tagged this product with.

OS used: Ubuntu Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex), but should work in all modern linux distros with uvc support.

Outstanding optics and even more impressive software. One complaint. I don’t like the design of the clip that clamps onto the lid. The only sure way to attach it is over one of the lugs at the top that engages the base when the laptop is closed. Otherwise, the grip is not as secure as I would like it to be.

I bought this to use while I was in Iraq with my laptop. It has worked so well. Very portable and easy to use. I recommend this to anyone with a laptop that does a lot of travelling.

This web cam is easy to use, lots of cool features, I LOVE IT.

Only 1/2 of the total order was shipped, and product would not work in my laptop. Seller was non-responsive to my inquiries, but finally came through. Amazon was not clear on return information necessary for their A-Z guarantee. Very unsatisfied with this transaction.

Even though this seems to be a good basic webcam I can only give one star because the software for this webcam really slows down my computer. I tried it on three different laptops with the same disappointing results. I ended up uninstalling the software and don’t even use the webcam now.
